Welcome to Chapel Hill

  • Griffin Cottage - surrounded by flowers

Resting upon a tranquil hilltop in the island of Waiheke, you can find the wonderful grounds of Chapel Hill. With 15 acres of rolling pastures, olive groves, vineyards and orchards, and a magnificent 360 degree views of the island, Chapel Hill has the most idyllic setting imaginable.

Retreat into the rural haven of Chapel Hill’s land, and choose one of our three luxury homes. For a romantic getaway Griffin and Cupid’s cottage provide seclusion and chance for quality time together amongst the orchards. Surrounded by Wineries for tastings and award winning Vineyard restaurants, and only a short drive to the beautiful Onetangi beach there’s plenty to do nearby, or simply relax in the spa bath tucked away from the world.

For celebrations and larger get togethers, Pegasus Lodge provides the perfect environment to host large groups and enjoy each others company from the hilltop. The lodge opens out onto a 200 sq metre deck perfect for BBQ’s and events, and gives breathtaking views of Onetangi’s wine valley, right out to the sea.

For those on a more modest budget, Shed 66 at the gateway of the property provides a two room home sleeping up to 3 people. Set by the duck pond, metres from the bus stop connecting Chapel Hill to the rest of the island, Shed 66 is the perfect way to explore Waiheke without making a dent in your wallet.

Tucked away beside the property lies the animal enclosure complete with dovecote, chicken coop, rabbit run, pig pen and sheep paddock. Guests are always welcome to come and meet them, or join us at feeding time, they’ve even been invited to wedding ceremonies on the property before! To find out more about our animals click on The Farm.

Finally, set on the very top of Chapel Hill, and surrounded by beautiful vines is our new edition to the property- Chapel Hill Church! Lost in overgrown woods for decades, the original Towai Church was rescued, and ferried all the way to Waiheke before being placed in pride of place overlooking Chapel Hill. After months of travel the Church is now being lovingly restored to its former glory, and will soon be open for its first Waiheke Weddings. Read out more about its journey so far here.
